DIY Manicure Ideas

Seems like fingernails are quite a topic of conversation lately. Bright colors and glitter nail polish is not just for little girls anymore. From your middle finger to your pinky toe: they all deserve to shine. Sometimes the simple application of some polish can make an outfit pop or help jewelry to shine brighter. There are some great brands and colors that match your every mood.

Nicki Minaj has a line, from OPI, of colors inspired by her out-of-this-world personality. Her collection features polishes named after some of her biggest hits. My favorite is “Fly.” It’s a bright blue that goes with any piece of denim you own. (Pictured Below)

Essie also has a new line that seems perfect for the change in seasons. “Luxeffects” are topcoats that will make any polish color a little more exciting. I love the sparkle they give to your ordinary polish.

Their site even offers color matching recommendations, so you know just which polish works best with your existing look.

Isn’t it funny, every time you finish your last nail; you have the unrelenting urge to use the restroom? You somehow manage to do your business without a scratch until you reach for that evil zipper. All of your hard work is ruined with the simple zip of your jeans. There must be another way!

Sally Hansen has me hooked on a sticky trend. Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips are real strips of nail polish with no dry time.

You simply peel and stick your favorite design or color. add a top coat for shine and you have salon inspired nails in minutes. They have so many patterns, designs and colors to match your mood or your outfit. And it is so easy to apply; you can change your color as often as you change your outfits. If you’re looking for a DIY manicure that you won’t have to pay for, just grab your favorite nail color (from the ones you already have) and paint a finger on each hand (except the middle finger). Then paint your middle finger on one hand. Then grab a more subdued neutral color, like a silver, grey, black, white, etc.. and paint the other nails. (Pictured Below)

Want even more fun.. add a coat of glitter polish to all your nails. Finish with a top coat and voila! A new creative manicure that’s fun and cheap!

As you wait for your polish to dry let us know which look worked best for you!
