Jimmy Buffett in Margaritaville

It was an unusual Friday night at the 1-800 Ask Gary Amphitheatre. Soft music could be heard from the streets. The parking lots were filled with laughter and Parrot Heads. The shrill sound of arguing could not be heard for miles. Instead, the sweet sounds of glasses clinking and guitars strumming filled the air.

It is hard to imagine Tampa as anything more than a busy city with a lot of bad traffic and loud construction. But this night was different. On this night, the Amphitheatre parking lots resembled the beaches of St. Pete. On this night, Tampa became Margaritaville.

Of course, CW44 would never miss a barefoot celebration with Jimmy Buffett. We were in Margaritaville on Friday night dressing cold beers in Two and a Half Men koozies and getting everyone we met “lei’d”. The show was amazing and the crowd was even better.

If you were stuck in Tampa and did not make it out to Margaritaville, we have some pics to give you a taste of what you missed. And for those who were ever-present in grass skirts and coconut bras, scan the pics to see if you got “lei’d” that night (don’t worry, we won’t show your wife).
