Avicii Concert Review

Avicii was in town June 7th to play a show at the Tampa Bay Times Forum and we were lucky enough to attend the concert. And the Swedish DJ did not disappoint!

People of almost all ages (16+ show) swarmed the Forum in their best rave attire. Neon crop tops, tutus, furry boots, we saw it all!

You probably already know of the DJ but may not be aware of it. His 2011 single “Levels” has been sampled in Flo Rida’s song “Good Feeling” which you have definitely heard. You can hear the song streaming on Top 40 radio stations daily.

When Avicii took to the stage, the dance party commenced. It’s hard to believe that the Swedish DJ is only 22 years old and already has so much success at such a young age.

The best way to describe the concert, or any other type of DJ show, is basically a full blown rave. There were no silent points in the concert. Avicii went into the songs from one to the next. Meaning that a song would be playing and he would mix in a unique way into the next song. The lights at concert like this are incredible. Name at least 10 colors and you can bet those colored lights were at the concert.

It’s always nice to see an artist on stage having fun. We’ve been to concerts where the artists look bored on stage, and that stage presence gets passed on to the crowd. Avicii had a huge smile on his face and had one hand on the turntables while the other hand was up in the air moving to the music.

The only negative aspect of the concert was that there were no screens up so if you had been far up you might of had trouble seeing Avicii. But the energy in the Forum that night certainly made up for it.

Overall, Avicii put on an awesome show and we can’t wait until the next time he comes back to town!
