Metropolitan Ministries Receives Generous Donation

Way to Go Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay and the surrounding areas are known for several things, but perhaps one shocking fact is that Hillsborough Country has the highest homeless population in the state of Florida. Following in second place is the neighboring Pasco County.

Scott Fink, president and C.E.O. of Hyundai of New Port Richey, along with his wife Kathleen, have taken this issue to heart donating $100,000 to Metropolitan Ministries – an organization dedicated to helping alleviate the needs of poor and/or homeless families in the Tampa Bay area. Metropolitan Ministries is a non-profit organization and receives most of its funds from donators like Mr. and Mrs. Fink. Their donation will be used to help create transitional housing and a resident-operated restaurant that will be open to the public.

Homelessness is an issue that runs rampant in the Tampa Bay area, as well as the nation. A weak economy and unfortunate situations have taken their toll on the comfort of home life. Fortunately, organizations like Metropolitan Ministries are around to ease transitions, promote stability and provide help. Supporters like the Finks help make this possible.  Kudos!
