One of the biggest concerts of the year is fast approaching. WiLD 94.1’s Last Damn Show 14 is heading the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Oct. 6th. (They stopped by to see us this week, see the photos here) The lineup includes some of the biggest names in the music industry so it’s sure to be a good time. Just in case you’ve been out of the pop culture loop, we’ve compiled a list of the acts and some of their biggest hits so you can head-bang right along with everybody else because tickets are still available, ya know.
Lupe Fiasco: Considered to be a “socially conscious” rapper, Lupe Fiasco first came on the scene in 2006 with his debut album Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor. Since then he has collaborated with several big names and released hits like ‘Superstar’ and ‘The Show Goes On’. His most recent album Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 was released on September 25, 2012.
2 Chainz: 2 Chainz has enjoyed a resurgence in hip hop popularity with the release of his 2011 mixtape T.R.U. REALigion. Since then, he has been featured on several hit songs with the likes of Drake, Nicki Minaj and Kanye West. His debut studio album, Based on a T.R.U. Story was released on August 14, 2012.
Pleasure P: Marcus Cooper, better known as Pleasure P, was a member of early 2000’s era boy band, Pretty Ricky. After the group split, Cooper released his solo album The Introduction of Marcus Cooper, which included hits like ‘Did You Wrong’ and ‘Boyfriend #2’. His latest single ‘I Love Girls’ features Tyga.
Machine Gun Kelly: Machine Gun Kelly, or MGK, had his breakthrough hit with 2011’s ‘Wild Boy’. His second studio album is set to be released on October 9, 2012.
Kreayshawn: Most known for her simple, yet surprisingly catchy song Gucci Gucci, Kreayshawn is expanding her popularity with her first studio album, Somethin ‘Bout Kreay, which debuted September 25, 2012.
Rita Ora: Born in Yugoslavia and raised in London, Ora first entered the music scene in 2008. Her first studio album was released on August 27, 2012.
Snoop Dogg: Headlining the concert this year is Snoop
Lion Dogg. Snoop Dogg has a reputation that precedes himself. Best known for hits like ‘Gin and Juice’, ‘Drop it Like It’s Hot’, ‘I Wanna Rock’, and ‘Young, Wild & Free’, Snoop Dogg has been a contender in the hip hop world for 20 years. However, his latest work, Reincarnated, is supposed to branch out into the reggae genre. The album is set to release later this year under his new name Snoop Lion.
