I’m sure that everyone has heard that silly little fashion rule, “no white after Labor Day.” I’m not sure when this rule changed but I’m glad it did. Thinking about it, I find that people tend to wear darker colors in the colder months and lighter colors in the warmer months. This is not a rule written anywhere (I don’t think). People must just subconsciously do this without realizing it. So when I started seeing some of my favorite fashion bloggers all wearing white clothing, I was a little surprised. In the back of my head I hear, “…but it’s after Labor Day?” So I guess it’s time to throw that idea out of the window.
I tend to steer clear of most white clothing, although it never had anything to do with some silly fashion rule, it more had to do with the stain-factor and the fact that I occasionally spill things on myself. However I do really like white, it looks fresh, crisp and above all, put-together. So I’ve decided I’m going to have to start wearing a bib while eating (regardless of how silly it looks for a 27 year-old to wear a bib), stay away from any and all animals that shed, and of course run far from all puddles. Then I too can start wearing white clothing more often. This may seem like a lot, but it’s all in the name of fashion.
Now all we need is a little inspiration…… See below the best ways to wear white this Winter/Spring 2013 season.
