After hearing about the infamous CBS memo (read more about that here) we were all wondering what our favorite fashion risk-takers were going to do on music’s biggest night. The Grammy’s are famous for fashion and for setting trends, who can forget J. Lo’s green plunging neckline at the 2000 Grammy’s? Nowadays you can’t swing your purse without hitting someone wearing a plunging neckline — ok maybe a slight exaggeration, but I proceed. That’s why this year the “memo” had everyone worried that maybe, just maybe some of these famous ladies would listen.

Luckily for us, some of them didn’t. Let’s take a look at some of the ladies that “didn’t get the memo.”

Not sure what Kelly was thinking with this dress. I’m also not sure that I like it — it definitely doesn’t meet the dress code. Seems to me like she taking the risk just to take it, this dress is just too over the top for me and doesn’t deliver.

Rihanna looked gorgeous, I loved her hair, her make-up and her very sheer dress. Pretty sure ‘sheerness’ was mentioned in the memo Ri Ri. I know I’m not the only one who noticed the sheerness — on the top — if you know what I mean!

These next few ladies kinda listened to the memo…

You know what they say “pick one feature and go with it.” That is definitely what Ms. Lopez did here with a ridiculously high-cut slit. She even joked while she was presenting that she “got the memo.” She got it alright, and then she pushed it about as far as it could go. I commend her efforts and think she looks amazing as always!

Katy Perry

Katy kinda listened as well, but she couldn’t help showing off the girls. I mean she was covered head-to-toe, she had to give people something to talk about today. Now, I love mint green, but this is just too much of it. I applaud Katy Perry for always staying true to herself and her personal style, but it’s not my favorite dress — or even in my top 10.

Not everyone broke the rules this year and some even managed to keep our attention…

Carrie Underwood is simply stunning. This dress fits her like a glove and she is following every rule.

Beyonce’

Oh Beyonce’, if someone would have told me you were going to show up to the Grammy’s in a pants suit, I would have laughed, but here you are — rocking out a pants suit at the Grammy’s! And to top it off — I love it! No sheerness, high-slits or cleavage needed, just an impeccably fitting outfit that screams confidence. Yet another reason why we love Beyonce’. No silly memo is going to stop her from looking gorgeous!
