Taylor Swift Says She Is Over The Sexist Press
Taylor Swift is over the media and what they have to say about her relationships.
Just recently Taylor Swift was quoted in her interview with Vanity Fair about all of the people who are overtly talking about her music and her love life, such as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who made fun of Swift when they hosted the Golden Globes back in January.
Swift has fired back at all the recent drama in April’s issue of Vanity Fair saying,
“It’s why I have to avoid the tabloid part of our culture, because they turn you into a fictional character,” Swift says. “For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated — a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way — that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist” (newsday.com).
Swift goes on to say “I have dated exactly two people,” Swift says, without naming names; the magazine takes that to mean Conor Kennedy during summer 2012 and most recently, One Direction’s Harry Styles” (newsday.com).
Taylor seems more than a little annoyed by the press, but can we believe her?
Remember the Joe Jonas break-up controversy? Swift told tabloids that he broke up with her over the phone, why wasn’t he on the list?
I am sure I have seen Swift with music star John Mayer.
I definitely remember seeing Taylor with the other Taylor from the Twilight movies, Taylor Lautner.
However, these photos and the million others could all be speculation and hey, maybe Taylor Swift’s heartbreaking love songs are not about her many relationships, maybe she is just really creative. Either way, I think Taylor has the right to date as many people as she wants, look how talented and fabulous she is.
