Every year, big networks around the nation get together for the Upfront (a screening of upcoming fall pilots) to prepare for the new TV season. And every year, our stars grace red carpets around the nation in celebration of the Upfront. With CW’s Upfront just hours away, I began some style research (of course).
When The Vampire Diaries got it’s start in 2009, the TVD stars were new to the celebrity world; they were young and green. In 2009, we had no idea that TVD would become the cultural phenom that it is today. When we met Nina Dobrev as Elena, we never expected that she would blossom into the woman that she is today… but we are quite impressed.
We began our style research with Dobrev’s first CW Upfront appearance. Each year, you see just how much she has grown and how far her style has come. Oh… they grow up so fast!
May 2009: Little Nina in all white. She looks like a baby in this photo! The all white outfit is cute, but very young… I do love her shoes, though!
May 2010: Dobrev continues to keep it simple in a short black dress. She looks like she’s going to homecoming in this outfit. Not my fave, but not the worst.
May 2011: Dobrev keeps it fresh in this grey sundress. She looks cute, again. The dress with the blazer makes this a very work appropriate outfit… not red carpet worthy.
May 2012: Dobrev is finally growing into her own with this dress choice, but it’s not perfect. Dobrev has an amazing body, but the fabric of this dress does that bod no justice. Closer, but not quite.
2013: The Upfront is tomorrow, and we will be on pins and needles, anxiously waiting to see what Dobrev will choose this year. 2013 has been an amazing style year for Dobrev. She is taking more risks and finding her style personality. She is becoming more elegant, sexy and feminen. We will bring you this year’s Upfront style choices, but until then, take a look at some of her most recent looks.
Keep an eye out for a post on this year’s Upfront fashion and don’t miss the SEASON FINALE of TVD Thursday May 16 on CW44!
