Ian Somerhalder Lands New Role

The Vampire Diaries might be on vacation after that amazing season finale, but star Ian Somerhalder is not taking any time off. Somerhalder just landed a role in the upcoming film The Anomaly. He will co-star with Luke Hemsworth (the oldest Hemsworth brother), Alexis Knapp (Pitch Perfect), Brian Cox, and Noel Clarke (Star Trek: Into the Darkness) who is also directing the film. The Anomaly is currently being film in London and later in New York.

The film is an action/thriller that centers around a traumatized ex-soldier who wakes up in the back of a van with a kidnapped boy. He learns he only has nine minutes and 37 seconds of consciousness to find out how and why he is there. Nine minutes and 37 seconds: why such a specific number? The character details and release date have not been announced yet, but we will anxiously await more details.

What do you guys think? Are you exited to see Ian Somerhalder on the big screen? Are you going to go see The Anomaly in theaters?

And remember to catch Somerhalder on The Vampire Diaries Thursdays at 8:00pm on the CW44!
