CW Stars: Blast From the Past
CW stars were young once too! They all came from somewhere and were good at something other than acting. I put together a little blast from the past featuring some of your favorite CW stars and some fun facts about them in the early years:
Ian Somerhalder was discovered in the small town of Covington, Louisiana and began his career as a model from age 10 – 13. His parents were normal people; his mother, a massage therapist, and his father, a building contractor. Above is a picture from Somerhalder back in his modeling days when he was first testing the acting waters. Today, you can find Somerhalder Thursday nights on one of CW44’s top-rated shows, The Vampire Diaries.
Nina Dobrev was born in Sofia, People’s Republic of Bulgaria and was raised in Toronto, Ontario. She took jazz, ballet, and gymnastics lessons at a young age. As she got older, she was very interested in acting, and she landed a big role on the popular teen TV show, Degrassi: The Next Generation. Above is a picture of Dobrev from her Degrassi days. Today, you can find Nina Thursday at 8pm on CW44’s The Vampire Diaries alongside Somerhalder.
Rachel Bilson grew up in California. Her mother was a sex therapist and her dad was a writer, director, and producer (that could make for some interesting family dinners). Bilson went through some rough times at a young age. Her parents divorced when she was very young and she later experienced a tragic accident (that most people don’t know about). She was involved in a car accident which left her with severe migraines and some memory loss. After the accident, Bilson realized how precious life is, so she dedicated herself to learning piano. The picture above was taken in her high school days (around the time she began to love the instrument). Today, most people know her as “Summer” on The O.C. and now, you can catch Bilson on Hart of Dixie, Tuesdays at 8pm on CW44!
Stephen Amell is a Canadian actor. He didn’t do much acting as a child, but about a decade ago, he starred in the American LGBT-oriented supernatural soap opera called Dante’s Cove. He had various, small acting roles until he was cast the lead role in The CW hit-series, Arrow. Above is a picture from Amell’s Dante’s Cove days. He sure hasn’t aged a bit and those pecks look as perfect as ever… Check out Arrow Wednesdays at 8pm on CW44!
It’s interesting to see where our favorite CW stars were in the early years. These stars aren’t just actors. They’re musicians, models, gymnasts and soap stars.
A little blast from the past is always fun!
