As non-celebrities, we are tried with an arduous task. We must troll gossip sites and Twitter profiles in search of the worst choices in fashion. With each bad decision, we must post our feelings and hope that we will never again bear witness to another fashion tragedy.

Unfortunately, it is never-ending. At every event, one celebrity is sure to disappoint. This week, Miley Cyrus is that one celebrity. I commend her on shedding the Disney-girl skin, but I think she’s doing it wrong.

Cyrus has been killing it lately. She has shown that she is very fashion minded and she is willing to be bold and challenge expectations. However, with every victory comes a time when you fall flat on your face. The night of the tragedy was Wednesday, June 6th at the Myspace Launch Event at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Cyrus attended the event in an outfit unlike any other.  Today, the internet is flooded with these photos and some not-so-nice comments.

I’ll start on a positive note. There are three things I love about this outfit. 1. Red lipstick; she wears it so well. 2. White Louboutins; amazing! 3. Black jacket; very cool and offsets the pumps perfectly.

Now, the negative. Cyrus’ new do is cute. She has fun with her hair. But at this event, her high-top fade makes her look like Kid from Kid n’ Play (Google it, you’ll get it right away). And of course I’m going to talk about the pants. They are a horrible cross between sweatpants and mom jeans. They are severely ill-fitting and take away from her amazing body. I am not a fan of the leather bra-top, either. I understand what she was going for - a punky, edgy rocker chick - but she looks sloppy and awkward.

Tell us what you think. I am being too harsh, or is this ensemble really that bad?
