The CW Shows: A Fan’s Perspective
My sister, Erica, is a huge television junky, but she is especially tuned into The CW shows specifically! She has stayed loyal to The CW channel so I thought why not get the perspective of an actual fan.
Here are Erica’s top shows in order and why she loves them. Some of these shows are no longer on the air, but I thought it was important to somewhat reminisce and see if other fans felt the same way about certain CW44 shows.
1. One Tree Hill
This is Erica’s top CW show ever (and it’s mine, as well). One Tree Hill aired its first episode on September 23, 2003 and had its last episode on April 4, 2012. Mark Schwahn, the writer and creator of One Tree Hill really brought to life a cast and story that captured not only my sister’s heart but mine and all of our friends and neighbors’ hearts, as well. One of the best scenes from this show was during the last moments of Season 4 (shown in the picture below) when all of the characters become “one” essentially, and realize that even after all the drama, deaths, heartbreak, and deceit in their past, they all manage to find their way back home — back to the river court.
2. The Vampire Diaries
The Vampire Diaries has quickly become one of The CW Network’s top shows. From the devious plotting of characters to the sensual love triangle between Elena, Stefan, and Damon, this show keeps you on your toes and never fails to keep you coming back for more! Erica’s favorite part of The Vampire Diaries would have to be in the finale of Season 4 when the inevitable epic face-off between Katherine Pierce and Elena Gilbert takes place. Below is a picture of the cliffhanger that leaves TVD fans eager to find out what happens next for Katherine.
Smallville aired its first episode on October 16, 2001 and had its final episode on May 13, 2011. It had a total of 9 seasons and it kept fans coming back… because it’s Superman (duh!). The Superman franchise has been around for 75 years, with Superman originating as a protagonist in a mere comic book and evolving into this American superhero icon in the movies and on The CW series, Smallville. Erica’s favorite moment from Smallville is the long anticipated wedding of Clark Kent and Lois Lane (shown in the picture below). She loves this scene because of how long Clark and Lois waited for this time in their life, there was so much build-up in the episodes leading up to the wedding, and as a fan, this was such a special part of development of the show.
4. Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast is one of The CW’s newest shows, airing its first season in the fall of 2012. This show has captured The CW audience by keeping that same dark setting that The Vampire Diaries is known for. Erica’s favorite scene from this show is when Vincent makes the bold decision to come out of hiding and attend Catherine’s father’s wedding. His decision to go out in public was symbolic because it showed how much he truly loves and cares for Cat. He was willing to risk his life to be with her. Below is a picture of this amazing scene.
Well there you have it, my sister Erica’s top CW shows of all time. She also used to watch 90210, Cult, and The LA Complex when they were on the air. She also currently watches Supernatural, Hart of Dixie, and Arrow. I enjoyed talking with my sister about her favorite CW shows and I hope you enjoyed reading about her thoughts as well!
