Buffy the Vampire Slayer  fans would love to see a project like this come to fruition, but there are some doubts.  In an interview with E! News, Gellar said:

“Joss [Whedon] and I always talk about [a movie]. But the thing with Buffy is that Buffy was a movie, and it ultimately didn’t work as a film. And I mean, we had such miles to overcome when we were trying to do a TV show based on a movie. And one of the reasons is that the story works better over time.”

Total bummer from Sarah Michelle Gellar, but the good news is that she is discussing the possibility. And what she says makes sense. Buffy was so great because it was a show… but a movie would be so cool! So maybe this is a Kickstarter project waiting to happen. I mean, if Veronica Mars can do it, so can Buffy! And not to worry, there is hope yet. Gellar went on to say:

“If there was ever the right story, we would do it.”

That’s all we needed to hear, Buffy! Maybe if us fans push enough, we can get things moving in the right direction.

Would you love to see Buffy back and on the silver screen? Or do you feel that her story is old news? Tell us what you think!
