Every 48 seconds in our country, a person becomes paralyzed. They may incur as much as 2.9 million dollars in medical costs in their first year. There are approximately 1.2 million people living with spinal cord injuries (SCI) in the United States, most of whom have no financial resources for rehabilitation after hospital discharge. The average age of most victims with spinal cord injuries is between 16-30 years old. Tighten The Drag Foundation was established to afford the opportunity for those with spinal cord injuries to attend positive therapeutic rehabilitation activities and adaptive sports programs through scholarships and to provide emotional support for their caregivers. Tune into Bayside Saturday August 24th to hear more about Tighten The Drag Foundation and their big event coming up in September!
