What a year it has been for trends, especially for a girl who writes about them! I feel like everyday there is a new trend or a new look to try and pull off. So considering this last year was jam packed with trends, I figured why not compile a list of some of my favorites. Some of these babies are even sticking around too, so if you haven’t already, it’s time to give them a try.

Beanies

We talked about beanies during Spring 2013, but this trend didn’t catch on too much until this fall. We are still loving this look.

Ombre

Ombre is not necessarily a new trend, we saw this trend a lot during 2012, BUT it was still in full force during the beginning of this year and we continue to see the ombre hair trend sticking around.

Midi Skirts

2013 was the year of skirts, for the first time in a long time, a skirt that fell below your knees was actually considered fashionable. The midi skirt is the one that people are most scared of, but if you tried this trend you know how great it can be.

Fanny Packs (or belt bags)

This trend did not get a lot of love when I started telling people about it this past summer. For some reason people can’t get the old way of thinking about the fanny pack out of their minds. I have a feeling that this is not the last we will see of this trend.

Overalls

Who doesn’t love overalls? Truth be told I do like the causal comfortable look of overalls, but I did not jump on this band wagon. I still do not own a pair of overalls, but there’s still a chance if this trend sticks around.

Crop tops

Holy cow I saw soooooo many crop tops this year, some I wish I could un-see but that’s another story entirely. This trend may have been the biggest of the year and it’s not going anywhere, anytime soon.

Quilted fashion

The quilted look will always be trending, and this particular post got a lot of love on our site, so I figured I would throw it on our list.

Peplum

We saw a ton of peplum this year and we really love this look here at CW44.com.

Leather skirts

We saw a lot of leather this year and particularly in the form of a skirt.

Plaid

This is maybe one of my personal favorite trends of the year. Plaid is great because it can be paired with just about anything, and it’s the perfect layering piece.

OTK boots

Over-the-knee boots are the newest trend on the list and one that I am still in search of.
