Golden Globes 2014 Fashion (The Good and The Bad & The Pregnant)
Last night’s 71st Annual Golden Globes did not disappoint on the red carpet. We were a bit worried because last week’s People’s Choice Awards had us under-whelmed (see that post), but luckily for us last night the superstars of television and the big screen brought it for one of fashion’s biggest nights. Majority of the dresses were simple and most were one solid color. But enough talking let’s get into the fashion!
This white dress with emerald jewels is one of my absolute favorite looks of the night. (Notice her emerald green shoes… so cute!) This dress fits her like a glove and she was showing the perfect amount of skin in all the right places.
Sophia Vergara is know for wearing form-fitting black dresses, but this look is amazing! The ballgown shape and added statement necklace really take this look over the top for me.
This dress is very simple but it fits Taylor in all the right places. The different color top of the dress adds a bit of unexpectedness while still allowing her to look her age.
Kate Beckinsale’s body is ridiculous… when you hear the term “hour-glass shape,” this is what you should think of. The sweetheart shape of the dress and metallic sheen really take this look to the next level and I love that she kept the rest of her look very simple.
The more and more I look at this dress the more I like it. The only thing I don’t like is the necklace between her cleavage, but I thought her skin looked fantastic.
This is the dress that everyone is talking about and while I do agree that Cate Blanchett looks gorgeous, this wasn’t my absolute favorite look of the night, but it definitely makes the “good” list.
Tina Fey really took a risk wearing this dress. Most women in there 40’s wouldn’t dare to try and pull off a head-to-toe bold pattern, but I personally think the risk paid off because she looks amazing. She kept the rest of her look simple with just a little color on her lips and cheeks giving her a very youthful appearance.
The not so GOOD
I hate to put Julia Roberts on the “not so good” list but I just hate this look. She’s got a mom hair-do and the white button down shirt under the gown is just awkward.
Hayden Panettiere’s dress is just boring, and her hair is awful. You can do waaaay better than this girl!
Ok, first of all, too much purple… also I don’t like the slanted hem-line, the pink bag or the shoes. The only thing I really like is the top on the dress, the rest is a no-go.
This look just confuses me. It looks like a lamp shade and gives her no shape at all.
This is just waaaaay too much fabric, Paula Patton’s body is to-die-for and covering it up with this much fabric should be a sin.
I usually love almost everything Rachel Zoe wears but this is a BIG miss. The giant arm ruffles and shapeless dress are just awful!
Geez Olivia Wilde certainly knows how to make pregnancy sexy. This bump-hugging sparkly emerald dress was simple gorgeous.
Scandal star, Kerry Washington decided to keep her look simple and elegant. She didn’t really take a risk with this look, but I do think she’s glowing and looks beautiful.
Oh Drew, I’m not going to be mean because you’re prego. (But…. if she wasn’t this would be on the Not Good list.)
Which were you’re best/worst looks of the night?
