These days, no one is more sparkly than Katy Perry. She seems to constantly find herself encrusted in jewels. It is only fitting that someone like Katy, with so much knowledge in the realm of all things bling, would be first in mind to launch a jewelry line.
Claire’s, the teen-driven jewelry store, knows that Katy is the queen of bling and they are very excited to make Katy’s sparkly dreams come true. According to Perez Hilton, Claire’s CEO Jim Fielding can’t wait to begin working with Katy. He said:
“Katy is designing a line of jewelry and accessories that she wanted to make for her fans. The overlap between her fans and the Claire’s customer is a great overlap. Katy is a very smart businesswoman and a great performer. She knows her brand very well. She has a definite aesthetic and point of view.”
We love to hear that the artist behind the brand has control. Katy knows what she wants and she will make it happen.
Katy has signed on with Claire’s for two years and her line will be called the Katy Perry Prism in honor of her Prism tour. As Fielding mentioned, Katy has the power. She will design and curate the project… yay!
Katy Perry is known for ornate concert sets, extravagant music videos and ostentatious getups, so I have a feeling that her jewelry line will be anything but tame and typical.
