It’s time to get organized! Spring is right around the corner and it’s a great time to start fresh and get everything in your life together… starting with your closet.
Yes, it’s time to go into the black hole that is our closets and finally give away those jeans that don’t fit, those shoes that we’ve never worn and get all of that junk we accumulate over the years organized.
Organize Your Clothing
Before you can get organized you have to purge… follow the chart below for help on knowing when to keep, when to toss and when to donate.
- Use hangers that all match to make everything look uniform.
- Color code your clothing if that makes it easier… or I find it easier to organize by type (i.e. dresses, jackets, blouses, etc.)
- Roll your t-shirts and stack them so you can see them. It will avoid you from having to hang them up, plus you can still see them all. (See picture below.)
Organize Your Jewelry
Everyone knows that if you can’t see your accessories then you probably won’t end up wearing them and most people tend to wear to same things over and over because of this. That’s why I like to display my jewelry in ways that makes it easy to see, as well as nice to look at.
-Earrings: Arrange your dangling earrings around the rim of a glass, this takes up very little space and it allows you to see all your earrings.
-Bracelets: Stack your bracelets on an antique vase (this one if from Goodwill) or arrange them on a decorative plate for easy access.
-Necklaces: Use shower hooks to hang your necklaces. You can arrange them on a hanger or attach a bar to the wall. (IKEA sells bars and hooks for every cheap.)
Organize Your Accessories
-Purses: Use magazine/file holders to arrange your clutches and wallets. Use a coat rack to hang your larger purses.
Also you can use some of your items, such as this silver clutch as decoration.
-Scarves: Use shower hooks and a hanger to arrange your scarves.
-Sunglasses: Make this DIY sunglasses frame with an 8 x 11 frame and some fishing line. Hanging your glasses will save counter space and keep your lenses from getting scratched.
Hope some of these tips help you to get organized this Spring!!
