The American Association for Suicidology (AAS) is a charitable non-profit membership organization for all those involved in suicide prevention and intervention, or touched by suicide. AAS is a leader in the advancement of scientific and programmatic efforts in suicide prevention through research, education and training, the development of standards and resources, and survivor support services. The National Center for Veterans Studies (NCVS) is a non-profit research center located at The University of Utah whose mission is to engage in research, education, outreach, and advocacy to improve the lives of veterans. AAS and the NCVS are partnering on the community Partners in Suicide Prevention program, a one-year pilot program funded by the Defense Suicide Prevention Office that is focused on suicide prevention outreach and education for the National Guard, Reserves, their families, and caregivers. The primary purpose of the program is to increase the number of National Guard/Reserve service members provided empirically-supported treatment or services by community partners.
