Bayside: Lupus Walk (9/27)Lupus is an incurable autoimmune disease that affects some 1.5 million Americans and an estimated 5 million people worldwide. Nine out of ten lupus patients are women with the average age of onset between 14 and 45. Lupus is significantly more prevalent in people of color. Linda Ruescher, a lupus patient herself, is the program director for the Lupus Foundation of Florida. On this episode of Bayside, we’ll talk to her about the disease and their upcoming fundraiser.
Bayside: Make-a-Wish and Night of the Iguana (9/13)Make-A-Wish is the world’s largest wish-granting charity. A wish is granted every 37 minutes to a child with a life-threatening medical condition. Make-A-Wish Central & Northern Florida has been granting wishes since 1986 and has granted more than 5,000 local wishes. Bayside: Shriners Hospitals for Children (9/20)For the past three decades, more than 50,000 children have received orthopedic specialty care in a family-centered environment at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Tampa. The hospital continues to focus on providing the highest quality pediatric medical care to children regardless of the families’ ability to pay and relies on the generosity of donors to sustain its mission. Located on the University of South Florida campus, the Tampa location is a major referral center for complex and highly specialized orthopedic treatment for children throughout Florida and south Georgia. Bayside: CMOCF Walk (9/6)Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation was founded by Celma Mastry, her family and friends in 2003. In 12 years, with the support of Tampa Bay community, they have been able to financially assist ovarian cancer patients and their families with mortgage, rent, utility, car, transportation and prescription payments. CMOCF also provides education and awareness of ovarian cancer. Tune in to Bayside for more on the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation and their upcoming fundraiser.
Bayside: Brandon Foundation Masquerade Ball (8/30)The 1st annual Brandon Foundation Masquerade Ball will take place on Nov. 7th at T. Pepin Hospitality Center. Following the wonderful history of the Tampa Bay Wine & Food Festival, this new event will allow the community to come together in a masquerade ball atmosphere. Celebrity guests will be on hand to mingle with guests and be paired with our VIP guests for a wonderful experience of ball dancing, great food, wine and spirits.
