Colors everywhere! This year at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards the guys stepped up their game by trying their hand with a little bit of color. The big color for night: NAVY! Some of these guys wore amazing colors and really shined through during the awards. Others made me wish they had just stayed home.
‘Best New Artist’ and ‘Song of the Year’ Grammy winners Fun. took their hipster/indie cues to surprise in these colorful ensembles. Being a group of three, these guys could have gone with the classic black suit and tie. However, these guys are individuals and their style was seen through these different suits. Frontman Nate Ruess and Andrew Dost stuck to the navy trend with their suit and shirt. However, guitarist Jack Antonoff shook things up with his subtly patterned grey suit with black tie. Out of the three, Ruess wore it best with his navy suit and shiny brown tie. Not to mention their too cool for school sunglasses don’t miss a beat. I guess Jack didn’t catch the memo.READ MORE: No, Geena Davis Still Don't Tell You If Dottie Meant To Drop The Ball.
Singer Ne-Yo was dressed to impress in this shimmering silver blazer. Nominated for ‘Best Dance Recording’ for his collaboration with Calvin Harris, he stunned the carpet with his choice of silver instead of black as well as his selection of black pseudo fedora. Although he didn’t win in his category, he certainly gained a space on the best dressed men list.
Another man with his eye on that navy trend: Flo Rida. Unlike Ruess of Fun., Flo Rida matched a navy blazer to a navy bow tie on a white tuxedo shirt. Keeping with the sunglasses trend of this post, Flo Rida kept his cool with this laced up guest.

Let’s be honest. Fast and Furious actor, Tyrese Gibson is all kinds of hot. But was his fashion choice at the Grammy’s this year a mistake? It’s tough to say. This black and brown suit stands out against the black and blue musicians covering the red carpet. However, the leather-like fabric of the suit raises a few red flags. It is the Grammy’s and Tyrese was nominated for ‘Best R&B Album,’ so he had to step out of the traditional black suit to fit the bill. Personally, I like Tyrese clean cut in an all black or all white suit without any bold moves. Maybe you loved it!
Call it old-fashioned all you want. Call it channeling the past. Either way, Justin Timberlake fit the classic tuxedo perfectly. And with a twist! That over-sized tie screams 20s especially paired with the his black and white pocket square. This man knows how to bring sexy back all the way to the days of flappers and big bands! He fit right in to his sepia-toned performance. The natural look of his hair with the hint of slickness finished off the look in collaboration with his white and black shoes. Keep bringing the sexy back, Justin.
We can love on all these guys all day long, but someone has to be on the worst dressed list for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. My choice for worst dressed male: John Mayer. Maybe he was channeling the kid in him and a love for chocolate as Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Even if he was, he would have to be as mad as Willy Wonka to pull off a blue velvet blazer and get away unnoticed. I’ll give him his alignment with the blue toned trend of the night, but it’s just not enough. John should stick to his messy look that has always worked for him no matter what listed it landed him on.
