The stars went punk at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) Gala in New York City on Monday (May 6). But how punk rock did they really go?
Some stars wore leather, while others wore lace–all black of course. Lots of stars had fun with their makeup, channeling their inner Debbie Harry, who herself donned an all-black ensemble from Tommy Hilfiger.

Miley Cyrus in Marc Jacobs

Katy Perry in Dolce & Gabbana
For Katy’s golden look she channeled Joan of Arc, one of history’s greatest punks. We appreciate the California Girl’s nod to anti-establishment (very punk rock), but her look is a little more Medieval Times than The Ramones.
