Being an intern at the CW44 isn’t your average ‘internship experience’. There are many benefits of being a part of the CW44 team. In our first week, we had the pleasure of experiencing The Upfront.
The Upfront is a special event that brings the CW44 team together to watch a live stream from New York in which the CW President, Mark Pedowitz, presents all of the new fall programming for the CW. We got to preview the three shows premiering in the fall and the two mid-season shows. Here is the take from your CW44 interns (Ariel and Ashley) on the new shows!
Reign (starting in Fall 2013)
This show is a historical drama about the untold story Mary Queen of Scots and her arranged marriage to Prince Francis of France. Adelaide Kane stars as Mary and Toby Regbo stars as Prince Francis. Our take on this show: it will be a big hit! It’s similar to the HBO drama, Game of Thrones, but there’s a more romantic feel to Reign. Although we were only given a small preview, what we saw had us on the edge of our seats! Be sure to check out Reign on CW44 this Fall, Thursdays at 9 PM.
The Tomorrow People (starting in Fall 2013)
This show is a sci-fi drama that showcases humans with paranormal abilities. The Tomorrow People tells the story of Stephen Jameson, a normal teenager with supernatural powers. In our opinion, we think this show has potential to be good, but in comparison to the other shows, it doesn’t stand out as much. But prove us wrong and be sure to check out The Tomorrow People Wednesdays at 9 PM on CW44.
The Originals (starting in Fall 2013)
This show is a spin-off of our top-rated show, The Vampire Diaries. The Originals shows the original vampire family and goes back to where it all began in the french quarter of New Orleans. We both think this show is intriguing and will keep you interested and engaged show after show. If you like The Vampire Diaries, then you will definitely love The Originals! Catch The Originals on CW44 Tuesdays at 8 PM.
Star-Crossed (starting in Spring 2014)
This show tells the story of an alien species called the Atrians, who crash-land on Earth in a small town and their fight to exist among the human species. This show reminded us a lot of The Twilight Saga, so if you liked any of the Twilight movies, you’ll be sure to enjoy Star-Crossed. This show will air mid-season in early 2014.
The 100 (starting in Spring 2014)
This show is about 100 juvenile prisoners released onto Earth after living in an international space station from the time they were born. Humans haven’t been on Earth for 97 years because of a nuclear Armageddon that destroyed civilization. These 100 come to realize that they are not alone on Earth. We think that this show is exciting and filled with suspense. If you liked the Hunger Games, you will definitely enjoy The 100. This show will air mid-season in early 2014.
Of all the new CW shows, our top are Reign, The Originals, and The 100. From medieval drama to vampires to aliens, the CW has it all! We can’t wait to watch these shows premiere and we you hope you are as excited as we are.
