“Breaking the Record” is a Youtube docu-series created to explore Kat’s work behind the mic. She wanted an outlet that allowed fans to see every step of her musical process. In an interview with Billboard, Kat explained how important this project is to her. She said,
“I would always complain. I would say, ‘Nobody sees what I’m going through! [They] just see the videos that are on MTV or the records that are on the radio.'”
Kat wants to keep her fans close and up-to-date on the creation of her new album. She told Billboard,

“Everyone will very much be within the loop of where I am in the process, which is why we waited a bit — because we wanted it to be real-time, where I go into the studio with different people in April [around] The Vampire Diaries hiatus break and I start performing more and traveling more. We wanted to bring it closer to that date.”
The docu-series will give fans the opportunity to follow Kat around during her creative journey over a period of 26 weeks. There will be 13 episodes (two of which are already available on Youtube) and each episode will be three to five minutes long. Who doesn’t have five minutes in their day to stalk Kat Graham?!
