The plot thickens!
As you may have realized by now, I am NOT Ariana Grande’s biggest fan. I can’t help but notice the incessant reports that highlight Ariana’s GRANDE ego and blatant disrespect for fans. But who knew she was so sneaky?!
A few weeks ago, we brought you the story of Ariana’s photo shoot hissy-fit (read it here). This story was the tipping point for a slew of “Ariana, The Diva” stories to follow. This bad PR can’t be good for Ariana, so… this happened. Shortly after the circulation of this bad story, Ariana opened up to Marie Claire about a terrible car accident. She said:
“I was driving to Big Sean’s house on those windy hills in L.A. It was my first time going up those hills so I was going like 12 miles per hour. This lady was whipping around the corner, and I came to a complete stop so she bumped me really hard — the whole front of my Range Rover was wrecked. She jumped out and was like, ‘Sweetie, it’s okay, it’s totally fine. What do you do?’ I was like, ‘I’m a singer.’ And she was like, ‘Oh, I think I broke my leg.’ And I was like, ‘I mean, I make jewelry.‘”
Oh dear, poor Ariana! But wait, I think I heard this story back in MAY! Yes, it’s true! Ariana visited Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Power 106FM and told the EXACT SAME car accident story in May (watch it here). So why bring this up again months later? Her diva personality is the topic of discussion, so why not change that discussion? It looks to me like a strategic PR move to gain the sympathy vote. This tragic story is the perfect way back into our good graces.
So, is Ariana a master story-teller with a great PR team, or am I being too harsh? You decide.
