Last night (May 4th), the stars gathered in a beautiful building for a great cause.

This year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala benefit honored the museum’s latest exhibit China: Through the Looking Glass. As always, the celebrity guest list was impressive and so were the dramatic, theme-inspired ensembles.

The stars scaled the scarlet stairs with sophistication and style, but who took the theme and gave us the most memorable look of the night?

Allison Williams | What’s hiding under there? I kid, the dress is beautiful.

Diane Kruger | Is it a pair of pants, or a dress with leggings? Either way, it’s no good.

Jennifer Lawrence | The necklace/crop-top combo is not working for me.

Karon Elson | Kudos for taking the theme to new heights, your highness. I’m not mad at ya.

Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye West | The dress is beautifully embellished, but maybe we should cover the goodies; although, anything is better than the Couch of 2013.

Beyonce and Jay-Z | Apparently, Kim and B shop at the same store. I don’t see the theme of the night here at all, just a whole lotta body.

Sienna Miller | It’s interesting and risqué, but slightly unflattering.

Amal Clooney and George Clooney | The gown is gorgeous. This couple can do no wrong.

Sarah Jessica Parker | You gave her a theme and she gave you a look. She’s known for outrageous Met Gala looks, and this is yet another to add to her repertoire.

Karolina Kurkova | Great use of the theme and those legs.

Solange Knowles | It’s… different. Interesting, she covered her whole body while her sister covered NOTHING. #siblingrivalry

Emma Roberts | The color, the subtle peek of skin, the silhouette… everything about this look is amazing!

Katy Perry | Breaking News: Katy Perry was attacked by a rogue graffiti artist in the parking lot of the Met Gala! All jokes aside, I do love the shape of the dress.

Zendaya | I love this daring look. It’s perfectly on theme, sexy and regal.

Rita Ora | She stayed subtly on theme and chose a gown that showed off her rocking body.

Jennifer Lopez | Another sheer dress, but this seems more tasteful and on theme than Queen B’s choice.

Justin Bieber | A boy made the list! I hate to say it, but the Biebs worked it out. Love the on-theme jacket.
