Now this ‘The 4’ is going to be a little different from my usual entries in this series. The subject is ‘Date Night Movies’, but instead of a list of the greatest romantic cinema. Think of this as a guide for all my guys out there looking to impress their lady with a movie on a special date night or a holiday like Valentine’s Day. I’m offering a variety of selections that will help my fellow man decide what’s right to push play on while spending time with their loves. Here are ‘The 4: Date Night Movies’.

The Classic Pick – Casablanca (1942)
If your lady is one of high class and prefers the finer things in life, show her you’re a fan of the Golden Age of Hollywood with this first pick. Casablanca is a romantic masterpiece and one of the greatest movies of all time. Set in the early days of WWII in Morocco of all places, the film tells the story of exiled American Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) who is forced to help his former lover (Ingrid Bergman) and husband escape the Germans. There are twists, turns, classic lines and Bogie even kills some NAZIs which is alway good in my book. It’s a movie that many have heard of, but haven’t seen. You might give your lady her new favorite classic. Casablanca won Best Picture at the Oscars, but let me leave you with this warning. If your lover thought Bride Wars was a good movie, don’t show her this. My next pick will be more up her alley.
The Cheesy Pick – Dirty Dancing (1987)
If you’re going to sit through a cheesy chick flick with your girl, because that what she likes. Make sure that predictable, but lovable film is Dirty Dancing. The 80s chick flick will have everything your Baby (also the main characters nickname) will love. A teenage girl named Frances (Jennifer Grey) falls for an older Dance Instructor named Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) who works at the Catskills Lake resort her parents are visiting during the summer of 1963. Your date will love seeing Baby deal with watermelons, corners, the lift and lust. Plus, she’ll be in the right mood after watching an hour and forty minutes of a sensitive and sweaty Swayze if you know what I mean.READ MORE: Home Health Agency To Pay Millions To Settle False Claims Act Allegations
The Nerdy Pick – Say Anything (1989)
Gentleman this pick isn’t being suggested because your date is a geek, it’s because you’re the goof and you need Say Anything to show the ladies that nerdy slackers are the best. Kickboxing, trench coat wearing and going nowhere Lloyd Dobler played by John Cusack at his best manages to sweep the beautiful Valedictorian at his school off her feet in the Cameron Crowe classic. Lloyd has no business being with Diane Court, but she falls for the lovable dork. This is why if you’re a nerd like Lloyd you need to show your future lifetime love Say Anything. A jock would never hold a boombox over his head blaring Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes”, but Lloyd Dobler can and will make that grand gesture.
The Anti-Date Movie Pick – Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
This selection is dedicated to the anti-romantic ladies who walk out of films like How to Lose Guy in 10 Days and The Notebook. These are what I call “cool chicks” and the perfect movie to watch with a person like this Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Jim Carrey gets serious in this weird romance about a couple, Joel (Carrey) and Clementine (Kate Winslet), who decide after they break up to erase themselves from each other’s memories. The trippy tale shows love is complicated for better or worse and forgetting that isn’t always easy. There’s no musical montages or happy endings with a nice bow on top in this film. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind may be a visually striking and unusaul film, but there’s something very real about it which your anti-chick flick companion will love.MORE NEWS: Georgia Man Sentenced For Filing False Liens Against Federal Government Officials
